Catechists play an important role in passing on the Catholic faith to children, youth, and adults. Through teaching, prayer, and personal witness, catechists help others grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and deepen their understanding of the teachings of the Church.

No prior teaching experience is required. Catechists receive formation, resources, and support to help them serve effectively. This ministry is a rewarding opportunity to share your faith and help others grow as disciples of Christ.

In accordance with the policies of the Diocese of Wichita, all catechists and volunteers who work with children or youth must complete and maintain current VIRTUS Safe Environment Training and any required background screening before serving in ministry.
